“But I’m exercising” is now a legit excuse.

Hate exercise? Love boobs? You need to see this:

If you hate exercise, but still want to look good, stare at women's breasts for at least ten minutes every day. The study of German scientists shows that ten minutes of staring at female breast does the same thing for men as half an hour of pushups or weight lifting, international media reports.

I must not do enough looking…

We must kill the global warming-causing… trees?

0907091001  [H/T @1xDead_2xsBorn]

You know that evil, man-made global warming? Yea, well, it doesn’t look like it’s all our fault after all…

A team of researchers from the US, Denmark and New Zealand have discovered a process through which a prevalent biogenic nonmethane hydrocarbon compound emitted by trees—isoprene—forms atmospheric particulate matter (i.e., secondary organic aerosol). The results are published in the 7 August issue of the journal Science.

Aerosols impact human health, due to their ability to penetrate deep into lungs, and impact Earth’s climate through the scattering and absorption of solar radiation and through serving as the nuclei on which clouds form, noted co-author Prof. John Seinfeld from Caltech. “So it is important to know where particles come from.”

Awesome.

Pushing my button

Welcome to Stupid Quiz Sunday, in which I'll take an online quiz that may or may not be stupid and post the results.

You Are Pause
Compared to most people, you are reflective and thoughtful.
You're always willing to take a break and digest everything that's happened.

You are patient with life. You are happy to sit back and let things unfold.
You're not in a hurry. You're content to take things at someone else's pace.

There’s a giant puppy coming! Save yourself!

Welcome to Friday Photo, a new feature where I share photos that I've taken with the world.

O NOES! A giant puppy’s coming after that school bus!

Trip to drop off Ash 012

As I’ve mentioned a few times before, mom breeds Shelties. This little guy’s from one of those litters.

Next week, I think I’ll run a picture of Sassy who, if I remember right, is this little guy’s mommy.

What my Twitter addiction says about me

Welcome to Stupid Quiz Sunday, in which I'll take an online quiz that may or may not be stupid and post the results.

You Are a Techie Twitter User
You are very high tech and an avid internet user. You even a bit obsessive at times.
You tend to be the first to hop on trends. You are an early adopter who is ahead of the curve.

Besides being a tech junkie, you also tend to be a pop culture and news junkie.
You're well aware of the world around you... and even a bit of a gossip. You love to be in the loop.

So, what will I pick for my 100th Friday Photo?

Welcome to the 100th edition of Friday Photo, a new feature where I share photos that I've taken with the world.

Well, considering the date, I thought this one was appropriate. It’s from Astros Opening Day in 2006.

Pick a picture, any picture.

Welcome to Stupid Quiz Sunday, in which I'll take an online quiz that may or may not be stupid and post the results.

All I did was pick a picture and it came up with this. Oddly enough, it sounds kinda like me…

You Are Confident and Dominant
You are a very independent, do it yourself kind of person. You've had to rely on yourself.
You know how to be strong for yourself and the people you love. You have a protective streak.

You sometimes come off as a little assertive. You know what you want, and you're not afraid to go get it.
The only thing you require from people is that they're straight with you. You are ready for the truth.

What will I be doing this Labor Day weekend? Well, laboring, of course!

This weekend I’m making my first ever trip out to Wimberley, Texas.

I’m going with my cousin who’s moving out there. We’re loading up the truck, driving out, unloading the truck, and coming back Monday.

I’m bringing along the camera, so there will be pictures.

And, of course, I’ll be posting updates to Twitter.

See y’all Monday!

Getting up close and personal

Welcome to Friday Photo, a new feature where I share photos that I've taken with the world.

I really should stop rehashing old photos, but I’ve got so many good ones that I think deserve this larger format… well, that and it’s been a while since I’ve shot some.

Here’s one I shot at a ranch near College Station:

Trip to drop off Ash 023

I’d gone to the ranch with my mom to drop off Ashley, one of my mom’s dogs, with a stud Sheltie. I’d brought the Rebel with me and took some pictures of the horses while my mom did her thing.

Being a city kid, I didn’t have much experience with horses, and what little I have had was… shall we say… mixed. They’re big animals and I never know what to expect from them, so I was a little intimidated. The horses there were incredibly friendly, though,

Ah, memories…
