Yea, I know, I know…

It’s been forever since I’ve blogged anything.

Rest assured, though, that I’ve got a three-day weekend coming up and I’ve got a post or two in mind for that time.

Still having computer problems

There won't be a Friday Photo this week because my computer died when I got back from Fort Worth. I'll make up for it when I get it fixed, I promise. It's just not terribly high on the priority list right now.

In other news, IT SNOWED TODAY!!!

Blogging will be light today

Blogging will be light today because I’m not leaning over the side of a charter fishing boat puking my guts into the Gulf of Mexico.

At least I hope I’m not.

My cousin invited me to go deep-sea fishing with some family that’s in town visiting from Corpus. Something I’ve never done before.

We’re going on a charter boat out of Galveston. In fact, if we’re not already in Galveston by the time this publishes, we’re probably very close.

I’m planning to take some motion sickness pills with me. Hopefully I don’t need them, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

I’m also holding off on Friday Photo this week so I can post some pictures from the trip. I’m bringing along my point-and-shoot digital camera for that purpose.

I spent Monday and Tuesday up at the lake helping my cousin move stuff out of her lake house that she just sold.

Since I got back, I just haven’t felt like blogging. Not quite sure why.

Blogging will be light for an indeterminate amount of time, as my grandmother broke her wrist Saturday and I’m being the good little grandson and helping out wherever I can.

Like being a chauffeur. And a cook. All the fun stuff.

Yea, well, the summons said to show up at the courthouse at the same time this is scheduled to publish.

So, unless something happened, I'm at the courthouse right now. Probably in line to get into the impaneling room.

Updated: Blogging will be light

Blogging will be light today as I head back to Houston for a follow-up eye appointment then go to the Downtown Aquarium.

Some Italian guy who called himself Little Vinnie called me the other day and offered me some free passes and a special chance to "sleep with the fishes."

Since I like sleep and fishes, I figured I might enjoy sleeping with the fishes.

And Little Vinnie seemed like a nice guy, so what bad could happen?

UPDATE: Ended up going to the Museum of Natural Science instead of the aquarium. Did the free Tuesday thing and we decided to do the DaVinci exhibit too.

Everybody needs to unplug once in a while

Blogging will be light for the next few days, as I'm heading up to my aunt's lake house on Toledo Bend with my grandmother to unplug for a few days.

And, since I'm there anyway, do some fishing.

I plan on coming back from the trip relaxed, rejuvenated, and with a whole bunch of pretty pictures for all of y'all to see in upcoming Friday Photos.

What I don't plan on coming back with is a sunburn, though it's probably going to happen since I'm going to be fishing on a boat in the middle of a lake.

Note to self: bring a hat.

Blogging may be light for a while as I'm putting a lot of effort into getting a new Drillers fan site up and running.

Updated: Out for a week

I swear, you just get home and you seem to hit the road again.

Tomorrow morning I leave to spend about a week in Fort Worth to help my aunt clean out her ex-husband's house.

Web access will likely be little to none, but I've left a trusted reader in place to take care of the place. Hell, I might even have a guestblogger.

Either way, I'll try to post a few updates to Utterz while I'm up there.

I haven't blogged too much lately because I've been in the shower trying to scrub off that nasty stench that blogging about politics has left.

Christmas vacation

It seems that I've taken a bit of an unannounced vacation from blogging.

Well, now I'm announcing it.

I shall return to normal blogging after the new year. I promise.

He looks like he'll be little more than a rainmaker, but there's no telling, especially if it stalls out over us like some people seem to think it will.

If I don't post here, keep an eye on my Twitter page, as I'll try my best to post updates to it.

Ideally, Humberto turns out to be just a minor inconvenience and things are back to normal here soon.

Maybe even with some cool pictures.

Allergies

Do I look like I'm in the mood for this?

My apologies for light blogging the last few days, but my allergies have been acting up recently, so I can't say I've really felt like it.

So, until I feel like it, take a look at Taffy.

UPDATED: Blame my ISP for late blogging

Apparently my ISP doesn't want me blogging today. Their DNS servers
are down, crippling our web service to only sites where our computers
already know their IP addresses.

Hopefully It'll be back by the time that I get back from the 'Stros game.

UPDATE: it's now fixed.

More light blogging

I'm feeling better, but some other issues have come up.

As I was debugging a RAM problem with my system, I think some OS files
on my hard drive corrupted.

Thankfully I could get the system to load in safe mode, which allowed
me to pull off my files.

I considered letting BitLocker decrypt the hard drive and doing an
upgrade install of Vista, but I'm just going to wipe the HDD and start
from scratch. The decryption would take too long.

Anyways, I should be back to normal fairly soon.

I swear I'm not dead

I've just been under the weather recently and really haven't had anything hit me that I really want to write about, but I'll go ahead and hit a few quick points.

• I missed softball Monday night, but I made our games Tuesday. It was a make up for one of the weeks that rained out early in the season. We won both games, but I did something that almost cost us the first one. More on that some other time.
  
• Fox dropped off our cable feed twice during 24. I probably missed about five minutes of the show. At least I know what the "package" was.
  
• The Astros seem to be getting their stuff together. THey've won three straight in Cincy and are now just a game below .500 now. Hopefully they can keep it up.

A panoramic view of Minute Maid Park that I shot in pieces at opening day last year and put together using some free program I downloaded somewhere.

Blogging will be light today because I'm planning on spending the day in Houston.

I'm gonna drive over, do some running around, and then head over to Minute Maid to see the Astros play the Marlins.

If you're gonna be there I shouldn't be hard to find, since I'll most likely be the only person there with a Wandy Rodriguez jersey on.

You know, just because I wanted something different when I shelled out all that money to get an authentic 'Stros jersey on my back.
