Snow

(Click any image in here for full size)

I take a look at my Yahoo Weather Widget and see this:

I was like "Is that snow?"

So I check Weather Underground and see that I was right

And I'm like "Wow"

Of course, the "go outside" test didn't show any snow.

Just a stupid white kid that went outside in short sleeves when it's cold and windy out.

I'll throw on a jacket next time...

Fair warning

Someday you may see pictures of me not wearing panties like the AP says somebody got of Britney Spears.

I prefer boxers.

Blogging will be light today

Blogging will be light today because I'm going to Houston to see an eye doctor.

But he's not the reason blogging will be light.

It's all the Houstonians that don't want me to go.

The last two times I went to see this guy Houston flooded. They don't want it to happen again and they're willing to try anything to prevent it.

Like trying to make traffic hell by reducing I-10 to one lane. But hey, I can go around that.

Unless they decide to throw a parade in Devers. Then I'm screwed.

And then the visits to my house from that Italian guy named Vinnie. He was kinda scary.

They're pretty desperate, I tell ya.

I remind them that parts of Houston flood when it sprinkles, but they don't care. Nope, they keep coming after me.

This is going to be a long day...

Regular blogging will resume tomorrow.

Are you TRYING to get me to go off on y'all?

And... SURPRISE... the Surprise does it again!

Really, what the hell?

Why does the Kid-Pam divorce get the big pic on the website.

I mean, come on, this is gossip column BS.

And is it really news? Pam gets around more than a joint at a Willie Nelson concert. That's nothing new.

No wonder newspaper readership is going down fast.

I think Mr. Crap nailed it on this one...

Allergies? WRONG!

I was starting to suspect it was something else, especially with the flu-like symptoms.

The thermometer showing a slight fever gave that one away.

So... since it's flu-like symptoms, it could be anything.

Something like:

  • SARS
  • Mad Cow Disease
  • Brid flu
  • Small Pox
  • Chicken Pox... although I had that when I was like 5, so I doubt it.

Or probably something simple, like... um... the flu,

Your post UT-A&M Colt McCoy update

If you're looking for something about after he was carted off, I'll go ahead and knock that out. This morning Gameday said he had a severely pinched nerve iun his neck and that he was in the hospital for observation.

But that's not what this is about.

This is about selling drugs in high school. Which he did.

Have a look:

The gang's all here

The triplets came yesterday. All three came out screaming and are healthy and mom's doing fine too.

The babies are in NICU on oxygen ant antibiotics for 3-5 days as a percaution. They should be out sometime next week. Mom's going home tomorrow.

If it wasn't for the allergies, I'd probably go up there today. Oh well, I'll see them plenty in the months to come.

Blogging will be heavy today

Blogging will be heavy today.

Yes, I know you're probably confused since I always tell you when blogging will be light.

Truth be told, blogging is almost always light here.

But today's different. Today's going to be heavy.

That's what my allergies get for waking me up way too early for a Saturday.

Yea. Heavy blogging. That'll show them allergies.

Woo!, Spell check, and "does it really need that?" all rolled up into one post

Yes! A&M beat the Longhorns!!!

Just two things about how the Surprise has that I don't get.

BREAKING NEWS: A&M shoots down Texas 12-7

Aggies win gragging rights for a year; Longhorns fall farther from championship days of last season.

Do you REALLY have to say breaking news?

And what are gragging rights???

Come on guys. You can do better than that.

Overwhelming

Yea, that's probably a good way to describe what I'm staring at.

Tomorrow's Thanksgiving. That's no bid deal.

It's what's happening the next day that's boggling my mind.

As I mentioned when I found out, I've got a cousin that's pregnant. With triplets.

Well, they're inducing labor on Friday.

The good news is that they're all healthy and a decent size.

The bad news... for all three of my loyal readers... is that this blogger's going to be busy with the "all hands on deck" routine when they get home.

Yippie.

So, just where have I been?

As far as the Texans... John McClain tells it like it is about that game. I guess when you're in the NFL Hall of Fame you can tell it like it is when it comes to the team you're covering. Especially since it looks like the only way anybody on this team will get in is if they pay the five bucks that you and I pay.

Well... that and allergies kicking my butt.

Why I started blogging on Through our eyes

There was just something appealing about being able to chew out an idiot at the paper on their own blog.

That horn sound was the car screaming "WRONG!!!"

I said that the relay switch was why my horn was broken in a previous post.

I put the new relay switch in and it worked fine. Until a few minutes ago when the horn started blaring again.

I pulled the switch out to shut it up.

Oh well, it's going into the shop next week to get some maintenance done anyways, so I'll just have them look at it and see what the problem is.

I am NOT looking forward to this. It's probably gonna end up costing me an arm and a leg to get it fixed.

Emberassing

I'm sure people wonder of dogs ever get embarrassed.

I can speak from experience... yes, they do.

Bear's fighting off a stomach bug that the et said he probably picked up from drinking water out of a puddle in the backyard. The few times he hasn't been able to make it outside to do his duty have been embarrassing for him.

And then there's Bruiser. The dog who I figured would never have any shame...

Until last night, when he managed to get his head stuck in a trash can lid.

I'm sure he tried to get out of it himself, but had no luck.

So he came to daddy very embarrassed looking for help.

Which he got... after I took this:

Getting out the brooms

The 'Catters finished off the sweep of the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight with a 3-1 win at Ford Arena.

Last night was a 5-4 overtime win.

The 'Catters are now only two points (one win) back of Gwinnett in the standings.

After seeing two seasons of, to be perfectly honest, crappy hockey from this squad, they've not got everybody thinking that they're for real and a legit playoff contender. They're fast, they play hard, and their goalie, Matt Yeats, has been standing on his head (another way of saying on fire) lately.

Next weekend brings the Augusta Lynx to Ford Arena for a pair of games, along with former 'Catters enforcer Jason Kostadine.

I have a friend who lived in the same apartment complex he lived in when he played here two years ago. She said that he's more than a little crazy and has a big fear of cats. Just a hint if you're thinking of making a sign. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised to see him drop the gloves with somebody on our roster pretty quickly.

Amazed

I just got back from AutoZone.

I went there to get something simple, a relay switch. Ya see, my car's horn got stuck on and through some minor debugging I found that it was the switch.

I figured I'd just be able to walk right on in, get one, and walk right on out.

BUT NO!!!

They have to order that $8 part because they apparently don't keep it in stock.

Color me surprised. And the guy who checked me out.

In other news, I'm taking the car to Midas on Monday to get the brakes done.

Random Thoughts

I haven't done this in forever... but here goes.

  • A friend of mine that moved up to Canada sent me an IM saying that I need to cut my hair after she saw this pic. Is that a sign?
  • Speaking of signs, the brakes on my car are making a grinding noise. I guess I should take it to the shop on Monday.
  • Feel free to hit the PayPal link if you feel obliged to help pay for it.
  • Should blogs that have advertising be allowed to beg for money?
  • I'll allow one exception to the above rule...... catcams.
  • Is it just me, or are the Windows Vista sounds kinda gay?
  • I forgot Poland.
  • Is it proper to tell a referee at a hockey game to go puck himself?
  • Speaking of hockey, we've got a game tonight. Are you coming?
  • Of course not, none of my three regular readers live around here.
  • You know we still have some Rita debris in our backyard. How pathetic is that?

All I've got for now...

And I thought drivers in Houston were crazy

The Beaumont Surprise Enterprise - Man shot on Eastex Freeway exit ramp

A man is in critical condition today after being shot last night on the Northbound Eastex Freeway exit ramp at Delaware Street, Beaumont police said in a news release.

[snippity-snip-snip]

The woman, who previously was involved with the man driving the Town Car, exited at Delaware Street but was forced to stop on the exit ramp by the man in Lincoln who pulled in front of her and blocked her path, the release said.

The man in the Lincoln then exited his vehicle and began banging on the Mitsubishi with his hand, police said.

When he attempted to force his way into the backseat, where the couple's son was sitting, the man in the Mitsubishi shot the man from the Lincoln in the right shoulder, according to the release.

Jeepers.

The shooting doesn't really surprise me, but what the guy did to get shot does.

You've got to admit that he more or less asked for it.

My voting irregularity

Yesterday I walked about a half mile to our precinct's polling place. Walked in and got signed in fine.

And then I walked over to the voting machine (demo here) and...

*gasp*

It went smoothly.

OK, so that's a "regularity" but with all the media coverage if irregularities you'd think otherwise.

Well I'd say I came out ahead

Saturday I took a trip out to L'Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles to do a little gambling.

I'd said before I left that my limit for money lost would be $40, and I did a pretty good job at sticking to it.

The buffet was actually pretty good. Great gumbo.

When I got in the casino area the first thing I noticed all the smoke in there. Nothing big, just not something I've seen in a while with the smoking ordinance and all.

Mostly I just stuck to the penny and nickel stuff, but I took a few spins at a quarter slot just for the hell of it.

Toward the end I was down to about two bucks left on a penny machine and then I got on a bit of a run, briefly getting above $20 before calling it with about $18.70 left.

I felt like I'd won with just that.

Blogging will be light today

Blogging will be light today because my cousin keeps screaming "Vegas, baby!"

There's just one problem: We're going to Lake Charles to gamble, not Vegas.

It does kinda look like you're descending into Vegas when you come down the big I-10 bridge at night going westbound, even if that's just refinery lights.

Maybe that'll shut her up.

Regular blogging will resume tomorrow.

But he didn't mean it bad!

About an hour ago Bruiser decided to show us just how much he loves us.

He ran inside with a dead rat from the backyard and dropped it in the dining room.

We didn't exactly love him at that point.

My poor grandmother started screaming like a little girl and ran outside shouting "GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!!!"

So I did.

He better not try to lick me anytime soon.

Blogging has been EXTREMELY light...

...because I've been sick.

Sorry, no funny eacuses. That's Laurence's job.

Regular blogging will resume tomorrow... hopefully.
