Discuss Amongst Yourselves: Closing the door?

I want to try a new feature, though I don’t know how regular it will be. I’m calling it “Discuss Amongst Yourselves.”

Basically, I’ll throw out a random, usually-offbeat topic for discussion and open the comments to discuss said topic. This could be interesting, or it could be a massive blow-up. We’ll just have to see.

Anyway, here’s the first topic:

If you’re the only one in the house/apartment, do you close the door when you go to the bathroom? Why?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Interesting question. Since I am the father of five there is never a moment where my home is empty, so I shall take the "On the Road" approach.

I am on the road and in my hotel room. The answer is yes I shut the door if I am bombing porceline harbor. I am slightly paranoid that a maintenance guy or maid will knock on the door and be exposed to the carnage that closing the door saves them from.

Makes no sense I know, but hey, it's me.

zI always close the door. If there is a door on the inside of another room, I close the door. It is a privacy issue that I don't negotiate. I don't want to walk in on you(generalize please) and I don't want you(generalize please) to walk in on me. I don't want anyone to EVER think that I have needs in "that way"

Sorry for being late to the party, but did not know this most interesting subject was being discussed.

The answer is mixed. Not to get graphic, but I'll just say "no" if I'm standing and "yes" if I'm sitting. You understand?

If you need a rationale, I don't like getting caught with my pants down. 'Nuff said.

Always close the door. And lock it. It really doesn't matter if the room is the bathroom or not, I tend to do this everywhere, like my bedroom or dorm or basement. I have privacy issues. True story!
