When doing the right thing really, really sucks

We took Bear back to the specialist today.

When we went in, the nurse lady cleaned up his backside and shaved him some to help with the odor.

Dr. Burney looked at him while he was back there and told us what we were afraid of... that the medicine wasn't working and that there was really nothing more that could be done.

We knew what that meant and all agreed that we should end his suffering and put him to sleep.

I'm gonna miss ya, buddy

Justin, I am crying tears for you right now. Losing a friend like this is so tough.

I am thinking of you and sending you comforting thoughts as you transition to a life without Bear. While your life will never be the same without him from now on, I hope you are able to focus on how your life was forever changed because you had him by your side while you did.

I'm saddened to hear of your loss. Although time will ease the pain, you never really get over the loss of a cherished pet.

Rest in Peace Bear.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Justin. Bear is in a better place now, and he is waiting patiently for you. His spirit will always be with you. Take heart in that.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Bear. Take care and give Bruiser a pat for us. He'll be missing Bear too.

So sorry to hear about Bear. I have been through this recently and I think that I know what you're feeling. Someone told me that letting your pet go gently is the last compassionate act we can give them. It doesn't make it any easier though.
